Elections
The Board of Directors is comprised of elected educators from institutional and affiliate members. The call for nominees is sent to all current members in April of each year. A special nomination form and school commitment form is required for each nomination. Nominations are due May 31. Elections are held via ballots or by submitting the ballots during the Fall Professional Conference. Each member school has one vote. Directors are elected to three year terms. In 2011 the election cycle was changed to reflect the professional confernce moved to the Fall.
Election results are announced at the Annual NCSSSMST Corporation Business Meeting held in conjunction with the Professional Conference. NCSSSMST is a nonstock corporation registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The election process allows for the directors to elect the officers of the corporation and the institutional members elect the directors.
